Mestia to Ushguli – 4-Day Classical Trek

Day 1 :

Distance: ~18 km
Elevation: +700 m / -400 m
Hiking time: 6-7 hours

Your adventure begins in Mestia, climbing through forests and alpine meadows. Along the way, you pass traditional Svan villages and enjoy expanding views over the valley and surrounding peaks.
Arrival in Zhabeshi, a quiet village dotted with iconic Svan towers.

Day 2 :

Day 2: Zhabeshi → Adishi

Distance: ~12 km
Elevation: +800 m / -500 m
Hiking time: 5-6 hours

A scenic and rewarding day. You ascend toward the Tetnuldi area, with panoramic views of Mount Tetnuldi, before descending into the dramatic Adishi Valley.
The impressive Adishi Glacier dominates the landscape before you reach the remote village of Adishi.

Day 3 :

Day 3: Adishi → Iprari (via Chkhunderi Pass)

Distance: ~19 km
Elevation: +850 m / -950 m
Hiking time: 7–8 hours

The most adventurous day of the trek. The route begins with the famous Adishi River crossing, managed safely by your guide (horses are used when necessary, depending on conditions).
You then climb to Chkhunderi Pass (≈2740 m), offering breathtaking 360° views of glaciers and Caucasus peaks.
A long descent leads to Iprari or Lalkhori, villages rich in Svan history.

Day 4 :

Day 4: Iprari → Ushguli

Distance: ~11 km
Elevation: +400 m / -350 m
Hiking time: 4–5 hours

A shorter and gentler final day. Rolling landscapes and open pastures lead you toward Ushguli, with constant views of Mount Shkhara, Georgia’s highest peak.
Explore Ushguli’s medieval towers and feel the atmosphere of one of Europe’s most remote settlements.

After lunch, a pre-arranged transfer back to Mestia concludes your trek.
