7-Day Ski Tour in Svaneti: Ultimate Freeride & Backcountry Adventure

Day 1 :

Start with a warm-up day at Tetnuldi ski resort. The lift takes you up to 3100m, where powder runs await. For the ambitious, a short skin up to 3800m unlocks even more lines. End your day skiing down to the charming village of Zhabeshi at 1600m.

Day 2 :

Laila Pass Exploration

Depart early from Mestia to Tskhumari village (1400m), base for the majestic Mount Laila. Skin uphill up to 3400m depending on the group’s stamina, choosing the best snow lines along the way.

Day 3 :

Koruldi Mountain Ascent

Begin skinning from Mestia (1500m) and ascend to 2800m. Tonight, spend a rustic night in a wooden mountain hut at 2300m, soaking in alpine tranquility.

Day 4 :

Skiing Chalaadi Glacier

From the hut, skin to the glacier’s summit at 3700m. The 6 km long Chalaadi Glacier offers some of the finest powder skiing in Svaneti. After the run, a shuttle will bring you back to Mestia.

Day 5 :

Ushguli and Lamaria Mountain

Travel to Ushguli, Europe’s highest inhabited village (2200m). From here, start your ski tour ascending to the summit of Lamaria Mountain at 3100m.

Day 6 :

Latpari Pass Traverse

Cross the impressive Latpari Pass at 3400m, the high route connecting Upper and Lower Svaneti with breathtaking panoramic views of the Caucasus range. Shuttle back to Mestia in the evening.

Day 7 :

Light Ski Day in Etseri

Finish your tour with a lighter ski day near Etseri village (1600m). Ascend to approximately 2700m near Mount Cherinda, enjoying relaxed runs and stunning landscapes before your final night in Mestia.
