Between the Black and the Caspian Seas lies the country with amazing cluster of cultures and traditions, ancient history, fascinating landscapes from snowy peaks of Caucasus mountains to fertile lowland. Numerous UNESCO sites, impressive rock-cut monasteries, and cave towns as well as millennia old archaeological sites and remote areas make the trip full of impressions and excitement.
- Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi; met and assisted at the airport.
- Day 2: Tbilisi sightseeing tour; explore the capital of Georgia founded by King Vakhtang Gorgasali in 5th c.
- Day 3: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Stepantsminda – Gudauri; drive towards inaccessible peaks of Caucasus Mountain range via Mtskheta (UNESCO site), where St. Nino Enlightener of Georgia erected the first Christian cross and visit Jvari church and Svetitskhoveli cathedral.
- Day 4: Gudauri – Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi; from highlands drive to western Georgia; en route visit the cave town of Uplistiskhe, first settled in the 16th -15th cc BC.
- Day 5: Kutaisi and its surroundings; explore the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Colchis – Kutaisi, now the second biggest city of Georgia and cultural center of Imereti region. This is where the King David IV The Builder, founder of Gelati Monastery (UNESCO site), began the unification of Georgia.
- Day 6: Kutaisi – Mgvimevi – Tbilisi; drive towards Tbilisi via Chiatura, a home of the largest manganese reserve also notable with its Soviet era cable car network; en route visit rock-hewn nunnery of Mgvimevi.
- Day 7: Departure; transfer to the airport.
